Spent some time at the weekend making chocolate. This is a first for me, I thought with Easter coming it would be great if I could make some healthy chocolate to give my family at Easter. I was surprised at how easy it was to make and tastes lovely however so rich you will not be able to eat too much so a win all round. Organic chocolate is rich in magnesium and antioxidants so small amounts as long as not made too sweet are beneficial.
Grated cocoa butter
Virgin coconut oil
Organic cocoa powder
OPTIONAL – Agave nectar or honey to sweeten
Equal quantities of each, I used less powder and less sweetener.
Grate cocoa butter and put in small heatproof bowel with the coconut oil, place bowel over a pan of boiling water. Stir the oil and butter until they are melted and smooth.
Put the cocoa powder in to a mixing bowl and add melted coconut oil and cacao butter and mix together until smooth. If you are adding a sweetener add this to taste.
Pour the chocolate mixture into ice cube trays and place in freezer for 30 minutes to set.
Remove from the trays and enjoy eating the delicious chocolate !
